She was built by Doxford of Sunderland in 1916 and passed through a number of owners before being purchased by the Daghild Canadian Steamship Co in 1923. In 1934 she passed to the Tenax Steamship Co, London. I believe this photo shows her during her period with the Daghild Canadian SS Co, but can't be sure.
